Some motivation from the Department

We hope these resources are useful.

1.  Knowledge organisers/ Flashcards

a)  Use the knowledge organiser for the topic you are revising, this should be in your book or can be found in the student shared area

b) Create a set a cards for each topic with key words on one side and the definition on the back.

c) Use the cards to test yourself, test others or be tested!

2.  Mind maps

  1. Look at the contents list of the topic you are revising, for example ‘Physical landscapes in the UK’
  2. Select an area to mind map for example ‘Coastal defences’ or you can do the whole topic.  Include key words, facts and diagrams.
  3. Try an online mind mapping tool to organise your ideas such as www.bubbl.us

3.  Exam Practice

  1. If you have been given a specific question then use the BUG (box the command word, underline the key information, go over it again) method to analyse the question before answering it.
  2. If you have not been given a  specific question go to https://www.aqa.org.uk/subjects/geography/gcse/geography-8035/assessment-resources and download a past paper.
  3. Use the mark scheme online to self asses your work so you know what the examiner is looking for.
